Given he scored more goals in one game than he has managed in entire seasons and his brace helped Nottingham Forest knock holders Arsenal out of the FA Cup, you'd expect that Eric Lichaj would have been over the moon after the game...
Well, yes and no; as the U.S. international explained to BT Sport after his side's 4-2 on Sunday, one more goal would have seen him "qualify" for a special present.
"My wife told me that if I score a hat-trick this year I get a dog, so I was trying to get the penalty..." 😂

Eric Lichaj scored what's sure to be one of the goals of the tournament, but you can't help but feel heartbroken for him with this revelation 😭😂 pic.twitter.com/z4ACTMRG3c
So, we have two things to say: 1) With so much riding on it, how could his teammates deny the chance to complete his hat trick and, 2) Mrs. Lichaj, surely you'll reconsider your criteria after that performance by your husband?
