Transfer Talk: Man United eye Ghoulam, Fabinho in summer overhaul

Clubs are slowly turning their eyes toward the summer window, and Transfer Talk has the updates on all the latest rumours.

Ghoulam, Fabinho linked with Man United

Manchester United will step up their bid to sign Faouzi Ghoulam by offering £26 million for the Napoli left-back, according to RMC Sport via the Daily Mirror.

The Algeria international has been sidelined because of a knee injury since November but is on course to return to training this week.

With doubts over the futures of Luke Shaw, Daley Blind and Matteo Darmian, Ghoulam has been earmarked as a long-term solution at left-back. Napoli will be in no rush to sell the 27-year-old, however, with his contract at the Serie A club running until 2022.

Meanwhile, the Sun reports that Monaco midfielder Fabinho is also eager to join United in the summer.

The 24-year-old is a target for Paris Saint-Germain, but apparently wants to team up with Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford as the United boss plans an overhaul of his midfield.

Spurs press Ctrl, Alt, De Ligt

Tottenham could be set to sign a third centre-back from Ajax as they plot a move for teenage wonder kid Matthijs de Ligt, reports the Daily Mail.

De Ligt has been widely tipped to join Barcelona in the summer but, with Toby Alderweireld seemingly on his way out, Mauricio Pochettino hopes to bring the 18-year-old to north London.

With Ajax reportedly putting a £50m price tag on De Ligt, the fee would eclipse the club-record £42m Spurs paid the Dutch giants for Davinson Sanchez last year.

But if De Ligt turns out to be as solid at the back as Sanchez or fellow Ajax alumnus Jan Vertonghen, it should prove to be money well spent.

'Chicharito' considers future

Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez will review his club future after the World Cup as he grows frustrated by a lack of playing time at West Ham, claims the Daily Mirror.

The Mexico international wanted to quit the Hammers in January after struggling to force his way into David Moyes' first XI but was convinced to see out the season at the London Stadium.

However, the £16m signing from Bayer Leverkusen could soon be on the move again, with several Premier League rivals believed to be monitoring his situation.

Meanwhile, the Sun has linked West Ham with a bid for Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli after Moyes watched the 25-year-old in action against Leeds this week.

Bettinelli could arrive as a long-term replacement for Joe Hart, who is set to return to Manchester City when his loan spell expires.

Tap-ins

- Newcastle and Leicester are eyeing a £20m swoop for Fulham captain Tom Cairney, according to the Sun. The talented midfielder is in the running to be crowned Championship player of the season after leading the Cottagers' promotion push.

- Arsenal and Man City are duking it out for Barcelona starlet Robert Navarro, claims the Daily Mirror. Juventus and Monaco are also tracking the 15-year-old midfielder, who has been tipped for a bright future in the game.

- The Sun reports that Bournemouth and Everton are keeping tabs on Egpyt international Mahmoud "Trezeguet" Hassan. The Anderlecht winger has scored 12 goals during a loan spell with Turkish side Kasimpasa this season, and is expected to find a new club after the World Cup.
