Five things Paris Saint-Germain fans need to know about Jese Rodriguez

Paris Saint-Germain have completed their fifth signing of the summer with the arrival of Jese Rodriguez from Real Madrid.

The 23-year-old has penned a five-year deal at the Parc des Princes and is the second player new coach Unai Emery has acquired from La Liga.

Here are five things that the French champions' fans need to know about their latest arrival.

1. Versatility

Primarily a left-sided, wide attacking player, Jese is capable of playing all across the front line. Mainly right-footed, he is able to cut in from the left and his searing pace will trouble domestic and continental defences.

In terms of his profile, the man from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is similar to fellow summer signing Hatem Ben Arfa, and Emery now possesses a number of attacking options.

However, despite the emergence of Nanitamo Jonathan Ikone during this summer's tour of the United States and Jean-Kevin Augustin's ability to play wide, PSG were arguably still lacking another wide option to complement Angel Di Maria and Lucas Moura until they landed Jese.

2. Pre-injury promise

Les Parisiens' signing of Jese is similar to Juventus acquiring Alvaro Morata back in 2014. Both are talented players but the competition for places at Real Madrid was too fierce and both have had to move away to get the regular playing time they need.

Morata is now back with Real, although that might only be temporary, while Los Blancos will no doubt keep a keen eye trained on Jese's progress in Paris. However, with buy-back options prohibited in French contracts, recuperating him from PSG will not be as straightforward as it was with Morata.

Jese was extremely highly-rated at the Santiago Bernabeu before he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in his right knee back in March of 2014.

Such was the former Spain under-21 international's promise that he beat Emilio Butragueno's scoring record for Real's Castilla side in 2012-13 -- demonstrating his clinical potential in front of goal.

3. He's young

At just 23 years of age, Jese still has plenty of time to deliver on his considerable potential.

With Lucas the same age, and Ikone and Augustin even younger, Emery will have a lot of talented young attackers to work with and that should make PSG vibrant to watch going forward.

With regular minutes and a coach who is convinced of his talent, many Real fans are worried that Jese will blossom into the player they always hoped he would but in Ligue 1 and not La Liga.

4. Vibrant character off the pitch

Jese is a talented player on the pitch but also a lively personality off it. He is well known for his love of reggaeton music and even starred in a music video for the group Big Flow.

The attacker is likely to be popular with his new teammates and will find a nice Spanish-speaking contingent at PSG, with the likes of former Real teammate Di Maria, Javier Pastore, Edinson Cavani, Thiago Motta and Grzegorz Krychowiak all there.

5. Emery is a fan

Perhaps most importantly for the French champions, is the fact that coach Emery is convinced that he has the ability to unlock Jese's potential.

The Basque tactician has a proven track record of getting the best out of limited players or figures who either boast plenty of promise or have seen their careers stagnate.

If Emery believes that Jese is a superstar waiting to blossom, then PSG are right to back their new boss instead of forcing an expensive but unwanted star name on him.

The former Real starlet still has the potential to become a top player and, crucially, will be a player who will buy into the team ethic Emery is trying to forge in Paris.
