Marseille suffer further misery in Reims defeat

Marseille began life without Marcelo Bielsa at the helm with another 1-0 defeat, as Reims made it back-to-back wins in Ligue 1.

Bielsa stepped down after OM lost 1-0 at home to Caen in week one, while interim coach Franck Passi took charge in a defeat on Sunday, which also saw midfielder Alaixys Romao sent off.

Reims defender Hamari Traore had found the back of the net with a long-range finish following a half-cleared corner just 14 minutes in, and the hosts could have added a second but for saves by Marseille goalkeeper Steve Mandanda.

Any hopes of a Marseille comeback were snuffed out when Romao picked up his second booking in the 74th minute, while Reims' win saw them top the table, temporarily at least, ahead of the evening kick-offs.
