Kevin Gameiro inspires Sevilla to home win over Levante

Kevin Gameiro played a starring role as Sevilla climbed to fifth in the Primera Division table following a 3-1 win over bottom club Levante.Los Blanquirrojos had been in the driving seat from inside the first minute thanks to Gameiro, who then set up Vicente Iborra for a similar start to the second half, as Yevhen Konoplyanka completed the win shortly before time.Levante had not been completely outplayed, as they briefly clawed it back to 2-1 with a goal from Giuseppe Rossi but Konoplyanka's effort put paid to any late comeback hopes.Sevilla's unbeaten run goes back to early January, and it showed in their attitude, as a quickfire attack saw them score after just 50 seconds, Gameiro converting from close range after a cross was deflected into his path.Levante very nearly equalised just a minute later as Jose Luis Morales' shot from a tight angle was not handled well by Sevilla goalkeeper Sergio Rico and the ball rose up to cannon off the bar.Sevilla then attempted to double the lead as Jose Antonio Reyes set up Gameiro beautifully with a through ball but the forward could only strike at Diego Marino's face at the near post.Marino then saved well from a Gameiro header, albeit the action eventually being called back for offside.Gameiro turned provider a minute after the restart, unselfishly cutting back to Iborra for a simple tap-in, this after Sevilla had put together another quick passing move involving Reyes.Levante were given hope in the 55th minute when Rossi's close-range shot was too good for Rico to stop and the forward continued to threaten the Sevilla goal on occasion. However, with 15 minutes remaining, Ukraine international Konoplyanka swung in a superb right-foot shot from just inside the box which flew into the top corner, putting the game to bed.
