Las Palmas 4-1 Granada

Las Palmas returned to winning ways as they claimed a much-needed 4-1 victory over fellow Primera Division strugglers Granada at Estadio Gran Canaria on Wednesday night. As a result the home side moved up three spots to 16th, while Granada, who were reduced to 10 men late on, dropped down a place to 18th - just three points off the bottom. The hosts, who had only recorded two wins from their last 11 league outings, went ahead just after the half-hour mark when Pedro Dominguez picked up Jonathan Viera's cross and slotted the ball into the bottom-left corner to hand his side the opener.Viera then provided Sergio Araujo with the hosts' second goal five minutes after the break but - six minutes later - Adalberto Penaranda reduced the deficit as he fired home Ruben Rochina's assist from the right of the penalty box to make it 2-1.Dimitri Foulquier had a chance blocked and Rochina fired wide midway through the second half as the visitors searched for an equaliser, but Los Amarillos netted their third after 80 minutes after Robert Ibanez had fouled in the area and Viera made no mistake as he slotted the resulting penalty home for his fourth goal of the season. The away side were reduced to 10 men with just four minutes remaining as Cristiano Biraghi received his second yellow card of the game for a bad foul before David Lomban put into his own net at the death to put the result beyond doubt.ends
