Ferran Torres netted a first-half brace before Lamine Yamal and Marcus Rashford scored late goals as Barcelona claimed a 4-1 derby win over Espanyol to go nine points clear at the top of LaLiga.

Spain forward Torred scored with a headed effort and a bottom-corner finish, with Yamal assisting both goals on his 100th LaLiga appearance to hand Barca a two-goal advantage at the break.

Pol Lozano replied early in the second half, but Yamal and Rashford wrapped up three points in the dying stages as Barca fully punished rivals Real Madrid's draw against Girona on Friday.

Victory also comes only three days after Barca's Champions League quarterfinal defeat to Atlético Madrid, who take a 2-0 lead into Tuesday's second leg in the Spanish capital.

Frenkie de Jong was named on the bench for Barcelona after recovering from a hamstring problem and Hansi Flick made five changes from the Atlético game, with Ronald Araújo, Alejandro Balde, Gavi, Torres and Fermín López all starting.

Edu Expósito fired wide for the visitors early on, but Barca went in front nine minutes in when Yamal's corner was met with a thumping header by Torres at the back post.

Kike had an effort saved by former Espanyol goalkeeper Joan García and Barca went close at the other end when when Lopez's strike was held by Marko Dmitrovic.

Torres added a second in the 25th minute after latching on to a superb outside-of-the-foot pass from Yamal and rolling the ball into the far corner past Dmitrovic.

The Espanyol goalkeeper was called into action to make two brilliant saves in quick succession, denying Eric García and then tipping Lopez's strike over before Pedri fired wide as Barca looked to extend their advantage before the break.

Torres had the ball in the net 10 minutes into the second half, but the goal was chalked off by VAR.

Lozano then pulled one back for Espanyol in the 56th minute with a powerful strike from just inside the area.

Lopez fired an effort wide as Barca searched for a response and Rashford had a shot blocked before Dmitrovic saved from João Cancelo.

Espanyol threatened an equaliser with Fernando Calero and Rubén Sánchez both having chances before Roberto Fernández fired wide.

Barca wrapped up the win in the 87th minute when Yamal burst past Dmitrovic and fired into an empty net.

Two minutes later, Rashford struck after hooking a volley from De Jong's cross into the bottom corner with Yamal again involved in the build-up.
