Klass-Jan Huntelaar taken off Schalke penalty-taking duty vs. Hannover

Schalke coach Andre Breitenreiter has suggested the club's kitman has a similar scoring rate from the spot to striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

Breitenreiter's comments came after Huntelaar failed to convert a penalty in the early stages of the 3-2 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen -- a match Schalke lost from 2-0 in front.

"He will not take a penalty at the weekend," Breitenreiter told reporters on Thursday. "By now, his scoring rate from the spot is as good as that of our kitman. We will no longer make any compromises."

Former Real Madrid forward Huntelaar is contemplating his future at the club, having been linked with a move to Ajax Amsterdam.

Breitenreiter's first season in charge of the Royal Blues has seen him under pressure amid erratic form.

The Leverkusen defeat saw them miss a big chance to get closer to the Champions League spots after having led 2-0 at half-time, and they travel to Hannover at the weekend.
