AS Roma complete move for Bruno Peres from Torino

AS Roma completed the €13.5m transfer of Bruno Peres from Torino, both clubs confirmed on Tuesday.

The right-back arrived on Tuesday for his medical.

The contract is for an initial €1m loan, with an obligation to make the transfer permanent -- depending on the completion of certain performance targets -- for a fee of €12.5m, Roma stated.

"I'm absolutely delighted to start this new challenge," Peres said. "I can't wait to meet my new teammates and show the coach what I can do. In the meantime, I'll cheer the guys on from my living room tomorrow night. Forza Roma!"

The 26-year-old Brazilian was brought in to replace Douglas Maicon. He began his career at Audax before moving to Santos for two seasons. He joined Torino in 2014, going to make 65 appearances in Serie A -- scoring six goals.

Roma are preparing for the biggest game of their season even before the Serie A campaign starts.

They head to Porto for what coach Luciano Spalletti described as a "crucial" Champions League playoff on Wednesday, although Peres won't be ready to play in time for the match.
