Hull City collected their first league point at Old Trafford since 1924 after doggedly holding out for a 0-0 draw with Manchester United.
Jose Mourinho's side could feel aggrieved after dominating long spells of the game but the Tigers were worthy of reward for their resilience alone. Marco Silva is doing plenty right during his first month in English football, nurturing belief that this troubled season can yet end with survival.
Eldin Jakupovic's saves to deny Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba and Juan Mata were the stand-out moments.
Positives
The last time Hull City drew 0-0 with Manchester United, it was the result that confirmed relegation from the Premier League on the final day of the 2014-15 season. This, Silva must hope, can be the point that makes all the difference to belief as the Tigers battle to avoid the same fate.
The organisation and structure of City's performances have come on leaps and bounds under the new head coach and this was another feather in the cap for an improving side. Tom Huddlestone was excellent in midfield but Jakupovic was the man of the moment with a collection of outstanding saves.
Negatives
Not even the most demanding supporter could find fault in this, even if both Lazar Markovic and Abel Hernandez had chances to snatch a victory in the closing stages. Instead, the only cause for concern had come the night before with all of City's relegation rivals picking up points.
The wins for Swansea and Crystal Palace have opened up a four-point gap between the Tigers and safety. Far from insurmountable with 15 games still to play but City have to be mindful of keeping that deficit under control in the coming weeks.

8 -- If the City boss got things wrong in the FA Cup defeat at Fulham, he got it very right at Old Trafford. A compact, hard-working side included some surprising calls yet all were vindicated by the point.

GK Eldin Jakupovic, 9 -- The undoubted star of the show for City. First half saves thwarted Ibrahimovic and Pogba but the save to keep out Juan Mata from close-range was extraordinary. A first clean sheet in the Premier League since August.
DF David Meyler, 7 -- Right-back is not his favoured position by any stretch but his defensive strength was considered more appealing than new boy Omar Elabdellaoui. Let no one down before moving into midfield.
DF Harry Maguire, 8 -- Another big performance against illustrious opponents and survived one long test of concentration in the City defence. Always willing to bring the ball out of defence, relieving pressure several times.
DF Michael Dawson, 7 -- City always appear a tougher nut to crack with their captain around and he helped to shackle Ibrahimovic in a strong display. Brings out the best in those around him with his organisational skills.
DF Andy Robertson, 7 -- No sooner had City knocked back a deadline day bid from Burnley, the young Scot was justifying the call. Diligent and industrious at left-back, he also pushed on into the space afforded by United's pressure.
MF Lazar Markovic, 7 -- Much more encouraging than an inauspicious full debut, buying into the work ethic of Silva's side. Caused problems on the break and could have won it when striking the post from 12 yards out.
MF Tom Huddlestone, 8 -- The Rolls Royce in City's midfield, playing with grace and composure. Never ruffled and one moment in a crowded box calmly saw him dribble and clear. That typified a brilliant effort on the night.
MF Sam Clucas, 7 -- If United's midfield were not allowed to have things all their own way, plenty was owed to the tireless running of Clucas. The one-time non-league player is flourishing on his late introduction to the Premier League.
MF Josh Tymon, 6 -- A surprise inclusion on the left flank and had his difficult moments in the first half when United exposed his inexperience. Worth remembering his age and for those reasons the 17-year-old continues to stand out.
MF Evandro, 6 -- Played more as a fifth midfielder than a support link to Oumar Niasse and produced a selfless display to limit space and time on the ball. Given the set-piece responsibilities and disappointed at times.
FW Oumar Niasse, 6 -- A manful effort up top all on his own but his ill-discipline might have cost City on another night. Already on a yellow card, two silly tackles could easily have brought another before he was replaced.

DF Andrea Ranocchia, 6 -- A first glimpse of the loan signing from Inter Milan in a three-man defence and helped see out what others had started.
FW Abel Hernandez, n/a -- Fluffed a one-on-one chance as United pressed hard in the closing minutes.
