WASHINGTON -- Former Georgetown basketball player Patrick Ewing Jr. has returned as director of basketball operations.
Coach John Thompson III made the announcement Tuesday. Ewing is the son of former Georgetown All-American and NBA Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing.
Thompson says he's glad to have the younger Ewing "back home," and as a player he "saw the game through the eyes of a coach."
After graduating in 2008, he was a second-round pick by the Sacramento Kings. He also played for the Rockets, Knicks and Hornets, appearing in seven games for New Orleans in 2010-11.
He also played overseas in Germany, Spain, Greece and Qatar.
