MUNCIE, Ind. -- Ball State has signed 6-foot-10 center DouDou Gueye, a graduate transfer from South Carolina State.
He will be eligible to play next season, coach James Whitford said after making the official announcement Saturday.
The player from Senegal spent the past two seasons at South Carolina State. After redshirting in 2014-15 because of an injury, Gueye played in all 34 games, starting 18, and averaged 1.6 rebounds and 0.8 points for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference tournament runners-up. He also played two seasons at Western Nebraska Community College and has only one season of eligibility remaining.
Whitford says Gueye will add size and experience to the Cardinals' frontcourt. Ball State went 21-14 last season and won the won the Mid-American Conference's West Division title.
