Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski returns from COVID-19 quarantine

Hall of Fame coach Mike Krzyzewski returned to the sideline Saturday for No. 21 Duke after missing a game due to COVID-19 quarantine protocol.

The Blue Devils (5-2, 3-0 ACC), behind a career-high 26 points from Matthew Hurt, beat Wake Forest 79-68.

Krzyzewski, 73, missed Wednesday's win against Boston College while he and his wife were in quarantine after a family member had tested positive for COVID-19. He said they had both tested negative to that point.

"I'm just happy that we have such a good medical center and medical people who will take care of us,'' Krzyzewski said after Saturday's game. "I'm happy to be back. I thought my team played really well today.''

He said he was tested again early Saturday before being cleared. He said a daughter and granddaughter are fighting the virus and "doing OK but not great.''

Associate head coach Jon Scheyer led the Blue Devils on the sideline during the BC win.

The Blue Devils visit No. 19 Virginia Tech on Tuesday night, starting a stretch of three straight scheduled road games.
