Undefeated and now ranked No. 3 in the AP poll, the Tennessee men's basketball team is activating a unique jersey ahead of its game Tuesday against the Syracuse Orange.
In a matchup between two teams that traditionally don orange, the Volunteers are debuting their "Dark Mode" uniforms for the SEC/ACC men's challenge.
Unlike Tennessee's football team, which has worn its own dark mode uniforms once a year since 2021, the look will be a new one for the men's basketball team. Head coach Rick Barnes mentioned during the offseason that a black uniform had been designed, a new step for his team which had not previously had its own dark mode look.
Much like the football team's announcement of the usage of its dark mode jerseys for its game against Kentucky this fall, the basketball team announced the debut of its dark mode uniforms with a slick, if somewhat ominous, video.

The video posted by Tennessee basketball involves camera shots of players donning the threads while shrouded in smoke, with a mix of spooky music and the vocals of iconic Volunteers fight song "Rocky Top" playing in the background.
Tennessee's game against Syracuse will tip off at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN in Knoxville.
