Kentavious Caldwell-Pope given probation in traffic arrest

Detroit Pistons guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope will serve 12 months of probation following his guilty plea connected to a traffic stop on suspicion of drunken driving, according to a report.

Caldwell-Pope, 24, was arrested in March after he was pulled over for driving 45 mph in a 25 mph zone, according to Auburn Hills police. He was arrested after a field sobriety test and taken to the police station, where a breathalyzer test showed a blood-alcohol level of 0.08, which is the legal limit.

He was cited for operating while intoxicated and released.

According to the Detroit Free Press, Caldwell-Pope pleaded guilty in May to charges of allowing a person to drive under the influence and careless driving. He was sentenced to probation Wednesday.

Caldwell-Pope averaged 13.8 points and 3.3 rebounds per game in 2016-17. He is a restricted free agent.
