Bucks center John Henson undergoes surgery on left wrist

Milwaukee Bucks center John Henson had successful surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left wrist on Tuesday, the team announced.

The Bucks are hopeful that Henson will return for the playoffs, league sources told ESPN, if not sooner.

Henson was hurt during the Bucks' Nov. 6 game against the Portland Trail Blazers.

The team announced on Nov. 16 that he would need surgery.

Through 14 games this season, Henson -- who comes off the bench -- has averaged 5.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and one assist.

ESPN's Malika Andrews contributed to this report.
