Bell was suspended after he made unauthorized charges to Warriors assistant coach Mike Brown's hotel room in Memphis, a league source confirmed to ESPN. The Athletic earlier reported the reason for Bell's suspension.
Golden State coach Steve Kerr did not want to get into specifics regarding the suspension prior to Wednesday's game.
"The release was self-explanatory," Kerr said. "He was suspended for tonight's game, conduct detrimental to the team. Beyond that, it's our business, nobody else's, so we'll move on."
Bell flew with the team to Minneapolis and is expected to be active for Friday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Kerr added that he is not concerned about Bell's maturity.
After a solid rookie season, Bell has struggled to find a consistent place in Kerr's rotation. He is averaging 3.0 points and 2.7 rebounds per game this season.
