Guard Luguentz Dort signed a multiyear contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder, the team announced on Wednesday.
Dort, 21, began the season on a two-way contract with the Thunder. After making a positive impact off the bench, he became a full-time starter at shooting guard in January while typical starter Terrance Ferguson was away from the team, tending to a personal matter. In Dort's 21 starts, the Thunder went 16-5.
The Montreal native went undrafted out of Arizona State, were he was Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and named to the conference's All-Defense team.
Dort quickly became a fan favorite with his hustle and knack for momentum shifting plays, averaging 6.2 points and 1.9 rebounds in 29 appearances for Oklahoma City. He scored a career-best 23 points, including 5-of-6 shooting from 3-point range, against the Sacramento Kings on Jan. 29.
