Pelicans promote Bryson Graham to GM, replaces Trajan Langdon

The New Orleans Pelicans announced the hiring of Bryson Graham as general manager Tuesday morning. He spent the past five seasons as the team's assistant general manager.

"Over his 14 NBA seasons, Bryson has built a stellar reputation throughout the NBA," David Griffin, the Pelicans' executive vice president of basketball operations, said in a statement. "First and foremost, he is recognized for the strength of his character. His work ethic, basketball acumen, leadership ability and eye for talent have contributed immeasurably to our growth as a franchise. I couldn't be happier to see him assume the role of general manager of the New Orleans Pelicans."

New Orleans' general manager spot was vacated after Trajan Langdon joined the Detroit Pistons as their new president of basketball operations. Langdon held his introductory news conference with the Pistons on June 22.

Graham joined the Pelicans' front office in the 2010-11 season as a basketball operations intern, according to the statement. He worked multiple roles within the organization, including three seasons as a scouting coordinator and two as the director of college scouting, before taking up his assistant general manager position.

New Orleans also announced the hiring of Jon Moul, who worked for the Charlotte Hornets over the past seven seasons, as the team's senior director of cap and strategy.
