Damian Lillard continues to feed his off-the-court passion for music under the stage name Dame D.O.L.L.A., releasing a new single titled "Hero" over SoundCloud on Tuesday.

The song is about hope and determination, as detailed in Dame's opening verse:
"I want to see us all rise above that poverty line / Teach 'em how to cross their T's, put a dot on them I's / Lot of folks fell victim, how a lot of them died / Swallow pride to survive and it got me some time."
Lillard worked with Grammy-winning singer/songwriter/producer Raphael Saadiq, who is also from the point guard's hometown of Oakland, California, to produce this latest track for #songsfromscratch, a series from Yours Truly and Adidas originals. The art for the new song appears to be of the two working together in the studio, with Dame on the mic and Saadiq at the drum set.
Lillard and the Blazers will open the regular season at home vs. the Utah Jazz on Tuesday, Oct. 25.
