NFL free agents who chose teams wisely

With the opening wave of NFL free agency in the books, let's take a look at which players landed in ideal spots. Here are eight veteran players who are in a prime position to produce in 2017 after making wise decisions in free agency.

Alshon Jeffery, WR, Philadelphia Eagles

Jeffery instantly becomes the No. 1 target for quarterback Carson Wentz in Philadelphia, and he's also an easy fit in Doug Pederson's scheme because of his size, catch radius and matchup ability. Throw inside-breaking routes, 50-50 balls and let him post up inside the red zone.

Yes, there are some availability concerns with Jeffery given the past injuries and the four-game suspension in 2016. However, I can't question the skill set and the overall fit here. The Eagles needed to upgrade the wide receiver position to facilitate more growth in Wentz going into his second pro season. They did that by signing Jeffery and also adding the straight-line speed of veteran Torrey Smith. Solid moves that should pay immediate dividends for the Eagles.
