Precociously talented back Jordie Barrett is coming under the pump from older brother Beauden to sign with the Hurricanes.
Boasting one of the most sought-after signatures in the country, 19-year-old Jordie has been the subject of multiple offers from Kiwi Super Rugby franchises.
The versatile Canterbury back seems set to either stay in Christchurch with the Crusaders or join All Blacks playmaker Beauden at the Hurricanes, who clinched their maiden title this year.
The New Zealand age group star played a round of golf on Wednesday with world-class playmaker Beauden.
The elder took advantage of a day off in his preparations for the Test against South Africa in Christchurch, proposing his brother shift north.
"I'm twisting his arm very tightly," Beauden Barrett said.
"He's a young man just sort of starting his career and he's got some decisions to make. I feel a little bit sorry for him."
Jordie was a standout performer for this year's New Zealand under-20 side and has impressed at NPC level for unbeaten Canterbury with his booming boot and hints of his brother's sparkling running game.
New Crusaders coach Scott Robertson has stated a desire to snare Jordie, who is the youngest of four impressive rugby-playing siblings out of Taranaki.
Scott is a lock on the rise with the Crusaders while oldest brother Kane had two seasons as a loose forward with the Blues.
Beauden Barrett, who has become familiar with speculation about his own Super Rugby allegiance in recent seasons, offered one last piece of advice to his brother on the golf course.
He pointed out their father Kevin is a former Hurricanes forward.
"Just remember where you come from, that's all," Beauden smiled.
