Harlequins paid tribute to the Ricoh Arena medical staff as the club confirmed Francis Saili was knocked unconscious at the end of their Championship Cup defeat to Wasps Sunday.

Saili required lengthy treatment at the end of the game having suffered a head injury in an accidental collision with Wasps lock Joe Launchbury.

Quins director of rugby, John Kingston, confirmed after the game that the centre had regained consciousness, with the club confirming in a statement that he had suffered no further injuries.

"Harlequins can confirm that centre Francis Saili was knocked unconscious during the final moments of the European Rugby Champions Cup match against Wasps on Sunday," the statement read.

"The centre sustained no further injuries beyond concussion itself.

"The quick and substantial medical assistance he received on the field was a precautionary measure.

"Saili will now go through the required return to play protocol and will be available for selection when appropriate.

"Harlequins would like to thank the medical staff involved for their speedy and professional response."
