Leicester wing Nick Malouf is to return to Australia after spending one season at Welford Road.

The Tigers said that Malouf will head back to the Australia Sevens set-up following a campaign when he scored six tries in 21 Leicester appearances.

The wing, 25, represented Australia in Sevens at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

"It is very disappointing to lose Nick," Leicester head coach Matt O'Connor told the club's official website.

"He worked very hard to earn a place here and he demonstrated that he has a big future ahead of him.

"But we understand his reasoning behind returning to Australia and to their sevens squad, and we wish him well for the future."

Leicester, meanwhile, have announced the signing of prop Gaston Cortes from Bristol for next term.

The Argentina international made his Test debut in 2011, and has been a Bristol player for the last six seasons.

O'Connor added: "Gaston is known for the quality of his scrummaging and his ball-carrying, and we look forward to bringing him in during the summer."
