England scrum-half Dan Robson has been ruled out of the potentially decisive Six Nations clash with Scotland through illness.

Robson, who came off the bench to score his first Test try in England's 57-14 thrashing of Italy last Saturday, was the only change as head coach Eddie Jones retained 26 players for this weekend's Twickenham showdown.

Saracens scrum-half Ben Spencer has been brought in to replace Robson, who had put himself firmly in line as the deputy to Ben Youngs at No. 9.

Spencer, capped twice on England's tour of South Africa last year, will now provide cover for Youngs, while uncapped forward Elliott Stooke retains his place in the squad.

England, who are second in the table, must beat Scotland in their final game while hoping Wales lose to Ireland if they are to snatch the Six Nations title.
