Baylor's Lauren Cox out at least a game with foot injury

Baylor senior forward Lauren Cox will be out for with a foot injury for Thursday's game against Houston Baptist, and her return is uncertain. Cox could miss several games for the defending national champion Lady Bears.

Baylor said that Cox has a stress reaction to the second metatarsal on her right foot, requiring rest and treatment. Her return to action will be determined based on her symptoms. The injury is not to the same leg that Cox hurt during the NCAA final in April. That was to her left knee; it was a bone bruise and MCL sprain that did not need surgery.

Cox, a preseason All-American who was No. 2 on espnW's top 25 player rankings, is expected to be a lottery pick in April's WNBA draft. She has played in two games thus far this season, averaging 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Baylor has three ranked opponents coming up this month: No. 25 South Florida on Nov. 19 at home in Waco, Texas, and No. 21 Indiana (Nov. 29) and No. 6 South Carolina (Nov. 30) in a tournament in the Virgin Islands.
