Kobe Paras is coming home, and it looks like he's planning to stay in the Philippines for good, Gilas team manager Butch Antonio said at the end of practice Wednesday at the Meralco Gym.
"I think he is staying here for good. I've been in touch with Benjie [Paras]. I've been trying to see what his schedule is now that he's coming," Antonio said.
"I think he's here to stay. Up to what his plans are I'm not really sure. At least I'm confident of their commitment to Gilas."
Paras is expected to arrive in the country from the United States this weekend to join Gilas 23 for 2023 Cadets in their buildup for the Filoil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup which begins on April 21.
Prince Rivero and Vince Tolentino arrived for practice Wednesday and joined CJ Perez, Ricci Rivero, Paul Desiderio, Arvin Tolentino, Juan Gomez de Liano, Javee Mocon, Jeo Ambohot, Will Gozum, and Kenneth Tuffin, and coach Jong Uichico.
J-Jay Alejandro was present but wearing a protective boot after spraining his right ankle in National University's practice on Tuesday.
Paras last donned the national team colors in the Southeast Asian Games in 2017.
