No. 19: Chase Beeler, C, Stanford

2009 numbers: Beeler earned second-team All-Pac-10 honors in 2009 as the man in the middle of what probably was the best offensive line in the conference.

Most recent ranking: Beeler wasn't ranked in our final Pac-10 top-30 list last year.

Making the case for Beeler: If the center is the QB of the offensive line, then Beeler is not unlike the talented guy he snaps to -- Andrew Luck. The 6-foot-3, 285-pound senior was a leader of a line that allowed just seven sacks, second fewest in the nation, and paved the way for Toby Gerhart's 1,871 yards rushing, 28 TDs and Heisman Trophy candidacy. Stanford ranked second in the conference with 218.2 yards rushing per game and the pass protection helped make the passing game the second-most efficient in the conference. Beeler, who saw extensive action as a true freshman at Oklahoma -- including one start -- before transferring to Stanford, is one of six conference centers on the Remington Award watch list.
