Fields starting, Tagovailoa being ruled out has little impact on lines for NFL Week 3

Changes to multiple starting quarterbacks had minimal impact on the lines and totals on the Week 3 NFL slate.

On Wednesday, rookie Justin Fields was named the starter for the Chicago Bears, who travel to the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. The Bears were 7-point underdogs to the Browns before coach Matt Nagy named Fields the starting quarterback over Andy Dalton, and remained that way at most sportsbooks after the decision was announced. Dalton left the Bears' win over the Bengals on Sunday with a left knee injury.

With Fields as the starter, the over/under total also held steady at 46.

The betting market had a similar reaction to Miami Dolphins starter Tua Tagovailoa (fractured ribs) being ruled out of Sunday's road game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Veteran backup Jacoby Brissett is expected to start for Miami in place of Tagovailoa. The Dolphins were 3.5-point underdogs prior to Tagovailoa being ruled out. The line ticked up to Raiders -4 at some sportsbooks after the news, while the over/under total remained at 45.
