We updated the ESPN Jr. 300 for college football's 2023 recruiting class.
For many prospects, this is the first full fall season to be evaluated off tape and will supplement what we saw from the spring and summer camp seasons.
The top two spots remain intact, but the discussion for who ultimately solidifies the No. 1 overall position will continue through the next year. We've seen defensive linemen slotted at No. 1 go on to have major college impact, most recently 2019 five-star Kayvon Thibodeaux. Lebbeus Overton, who currently holds the top spot, projects to have the same type of presence at the college level.
While he possesses an impressive set of physical tools it is hard to ignore the talent and potential impact of current No. 2 overall prospect Arch Manning. A prospect with a strong bloodline and great physical tools, the top-rated QB reminds us very much of past five-star signal callers like Trevor Lawrence.
Of the top 300 players in this class, 66 hail from the state of Florida, while 44 are from Texas. Twenty-three players broke into the ESPN Jr. 300. Here are the ones who took their game to the next level.
