While evaluating underclassmen is an exact science and it's very early in the physical and mental development of many of these prospects, some strengths and areas of improvement are noticeable in the 2017 class, from a scouting perspective.
The initial release of the 2017 ESPN Junior 300 saw an evaluation of more than 500 prospects and, as always, placed a premium on the top four positions (OL, DL, CB, QB). Since there is almost two years before members of this class can sign with a school, the scouting process will continue and the rankings will change. However, a few trends and players are beginning to stand out.
