ATHENS, Ga. -- Having undergone hip replacement surgery just four days prior, Mark Richt still cast aside his crutches and limped to the podium Wednesday when he saw all the cameras entered Georgia's team meeting room to discuss the Bulldogs' new recruiting class.
Just as Georgia's coach did his best to keep up appearances by walking into the room, he attempted to do the same verbally over the next half-hour, putting a happy face on the way his coaching staff finished the job in this recruiting cycle.
Despite missing out on their biggest uncommitted targets down the stretch and landing only one of ESPN's top 10 players from Georgia, Richt insisted, "We absolutely are thrilled about all the young men that we have. We knew that there was a lot of needs that we had to take care of and we thought that we did an excellent job of getting that done."
