NORMAN, Okla. -- Even before the question was finished, wide receiver Durron Neal (St. Louis/De Smet Jesuit) was prepared with his answer.
"I'm not Jeremy Maclin; don't compare me to Maclin," said Neal, an Oklahoma verbal commit. "I know what people are trying to say, but that's not me. I'm my own man. Jeremy made the best decision for himself, and I'm going to make the best decision for myself."
It has been six years since the intense recruiting battle for Maclin, a St. Louis product who is now a receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles. But the result of his battle is still remembered fondly by Missouri fans, while it's a sore spot for Oklahoma fans.
