Stanley Cup Final betting tips: Props, odds, Game 6 picks

Who will come out on top in Game 6, Stuart Skinner or Matthew Tkachuk? Andrew Bershaw/Icon Sportswire

With the tailwinds of two victories carrying them home to the friendly confines of Rogers Place, all bets are off for the Edmonton Oilers actually tying up this thing for a Game 7 showdown Monday night in Florida.

That's figuratively speaking, of course, as many bets are actually on -- which is why we are here for this "anything could happen" Game 6.

Would it be a surprise if the Panthers rediscovered their form from the first three games and stifled the Oilers to take home the franchise's first Stanley Cup? Not at all.

Would it be shocking if the Oilers rode their power play for a third consecutive game to take the victory and force the series back to the Sunshine State? Not even a little.

And the odds reflect these expectations, with Edmonton being ever-so-slightly favored here, even though it's a razor-thin margin.

All odds accurate as of publish time. For more, go to ESPN BET.

Florida Panthers at Edmonton Oilers

Rogers Place, Edmonton, Alberta; Friday, 8 p.m. ET

  • Game 6 Money line: Panthers (Even), Oilers (-120)

  • Game 6 Puck line: Panthers +1.5 (-265), Oilers -1.5 (+190)

  • Game 6 Over/Under: 5.5 (-105/-115)

Saving the best for last?

Sergei Bobrovsky & Stuart Skinner to each record OVER 27.5 saves (+500): Let's start in the net, where we can at least find a little consistency in the workload faced by both creases. While Games 1-2 gave us those shot totals in the teens -- once for each club -- we have since seen shot totals mostly into the 30s. Both teams have crested 32 shots on goal in two of the past three games, but they both got past that threshold together in only Game 4. All that being said, the desperation levels for both clubs are starting to approach equilibrium again and both squads will be taking shots when they get them.

Time to end this party

Matthew Tkachuk anytime goal scorer & Sam Bennett to record a point & Panthers to win (+710): This ESPN BET odds boost sums it up nicely if you like the Panthers to come out on top. Tkachuk and Bennett share the ice at even strength and were actually quite dominant during the Game 5 loss, earning an 11-2 Corsi share and 3-0 goal share -- yes, all three Panthers goals.

We want Game 7!

Zach Hyman anytime goal scorer & Connor McDavid to record OVER 1.5 points & Stuart Skinner to record OVER 26.5 saves & Oilers to win (+710): On the Oilers' side, we need more things to happen to get to the same range of odds in the boost, but this one is equally on the table when it comes to game script. The Oilers have been relying on special teams to get back into the series, so Hyman and McDavid will have plenty of opportunity -- they both had more than seven minutes of power-play time in Game 5. And, while Skinner has only topped 26.5 saves twice this series, they happen to be the two most recent games.

Striking oil?

Connor McDavid & Leon Draisaitl & Zach Hyman to each record OVER 3.5 shots on goal & Oilers to win (+1,700): This odds boost jumps off the page because of the huge payout, but don't get fooled -- it's huge for a reason. Don't get lured in by the allure of +1,700, as the Oilers might need 15 full minutes of uninterrupted power-play time to get off this many shots. Draisaitl, for example, has taken four shots in a game just once since May 14. He had some healthy totals early in the playoffs, but has been much quieter since the Vancouver series.

Next goal wins!

2023/24 Stanley Cup Finals to end In Game 7 overtime (+650): C'mon! Why not? Get in on calling this wild Stanley Cup series to end in the only way it deserves to at this point. These odds won't be as good after Game 6 is over. Just sayin'.
