Hello and welcome to ESPN India's daily blog, where we bring you all the updates from the dynamic world of Indian sports, including news, scores, schedule, results and commentary.

After a very busy fortnight with the Paris Olympics, things should be a bit quieter now comparatively, but there are still some ramifications from Paris to deal with.

There's also the build-up to the Paralympic Games, which begin in a couple of weeks, and India have already been rocked by a big blow.

What's on today?

Not much, in terms of live action, as several Indian athletes continue their recoveries after the Olympics. However, it's the start of a week where we'll see Neeraj Chopra in action again. He'll compete at the Lausanne Diamond League on Thursday, so we'll bring you the build-up to that through the week. We'll also continue to get you more reactions from Indian athletes who came back after participating at the Paris Olympics as well as those participating in the upcoming Paralympics.

What happened yesterday?

Wrestling: After returning home from Paris, wrestler Vinesh Phogat said that their fight against former WFI President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh was not yet over.

Football: The Kolkata derby in the Durand Cup (scheduled for Sunday) was cancelled due to security reasons, and then the Mohun Bagan and East Bengal fans united in their protests against the West Bengal government.

Chess: R Praggnanadhaa produced an improved effort in the blitz section but it did not help him avoid a last place finish in the Saint Louis Rapid and Blitz tournament
