ROX Tigers survives early Albus NoX Luna aggression

LCK bot laner Kim "PraY" Jong-in said on a stream Saturday that he is retiring from competitive gaming after sitting out the 2019 spring split. Riot Games

While no one expected the Russian squad Albus Nox Luna to just roll over for the heavily favored ROX Tigers from South Korea, no one expected them to come out and punch ROX in the face, either. First Blood and a second kill for the scrappy wild card led to an Albus lead at 10 minutes, up in kills and gold 5-2 and 1k, respectively.

It wasn't to be, however. ROX steeled themselves quickly and by 17:45 were in full control, as demonstrated by Kim "PraY" Jong-in's solo kill of Mykhailo "Kira" Harmash in the mid lane.

Albus, to its credit, continued to look for openings against ROX with untempered, yet unwise, aggression. A 5-4 fight ended up going in ROX's favor, which led to a 10.5k gold lead, a Baron buff, a quadra kill for PraY and the victory for the tournament favorites. PraY ended up with a 13/1/7 Kill/Death/Assist stat line.
