The first Kled pick of the 2016 League of Legends World Championship fell short as South Korea's Samsung Galaxy dropped Europe's Splyce in under 34 minutes.
Splyce played a very scrappy style, looking to disrupt a more rigid and clean Samsung. The Kled pick was used to minimal effectiveness, despite Splyce making decent plays in the mid game. The skirmishes at one point turned into a prolonged team fight with teleports, re-engages and outplays.
In the end, Splyce ran out of fuel, and a bad fight in the jungle turned into a Baron buff for the South Koreans. Samsung, now an insurmountable mountain, kicked in the door to Splyce's base to claim victory. SSG's Lee "Crown" Min-ho played particularly well on Victor, ending with nine of his teams 24 kills, two deaths, and seven assists.
