Hannover sign Norway Under-21 Iver Fossum from Stromsgodset

Hannover have completed the signing of Norway Under-21 international Iver Fossum from Stromsgodset.

The 19-year-old arrives at the HDI-Arena on a four-and-a-half-year deal and has reportedly cost the Bundesliga outfit £1.5 million.

Fossum signed a professional contract with Stromsgodset in the autumn of 2012 and last season extended his deal at the Marienlyst Stadion until 2017.

After scoring 11 goals en route to a second-placed finish in the 2015 Eliteserien campaign, struggling Hannover have made their move for the midfielder.

And Stromsgodset sports director Jostein Flo has wished Fossum all the best in Germany.

"This is a dream come true for Iver and we are proud to have helped him on the road to a big league," Flo told the club's official website.

"When Iver signed a professional contract with Stromsgodset in 2012 we added a career plan with goals that he will be playing in one of the major European leagues.

"There we have succeeded and we are proud on Iver's behalf. As a club we are also proud to export enough a player to a league of superb quality. That's how we run the estate. For us this is something positive."

Fossum said: "The Bundesliga and Hannover 96 are well known in Norway and I have been following German football and look forward to this new challenge."
