Queens Park Rangers: Sandro has not been deported, he's on holiday

Queens Park Rangers have denied midfielder Sandro has been deported from the United Kingdom over work permit issues, and is in fact on holiday.

Sandro, 26, was reported by The Sun to have been kicked out of the UK after playing for the relegated Premier League side without the necessary paperwork all season. However, QPR dispute the suggestion the Brazilian has been deported.

"The club is aware of today's story in The Sun newspaper regarding Sandro and the Home Office," a statement on the club's official website said.

"Whilst the club is in dialogue with the Home Office in a bid to resolve the matter, it is not in a position to comment further at this time.

"However, the club can clarify that Sandro is currently on holiday in Brazil -- but wasn't deported as suggested in the article.

"The club will be making no further comment."

Sandro signed for QPR last summer after four seasons at London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, and has a contract at Loftus Road until 2017.

The former Internacional player said via his Twitter account on Tuesday that he was hopeful stay in England following QPR's relegation from the Premier League and that he future would be settled soon.
