Memphis Depay stars in Barcelona's 2-1 win vs. Getafe

Memphis Depay sets up one and scores another as Barcelona see out a 2-1 win vs. Getafe.

Memphis Depay struck the winning goal as Barcelona maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a 2-1 win against Getafe at Camp Nou in LaLiga on Sunday.

Memphis' second goal in three games since joining from Lyon was enough to seal the points for Barca after Sandro Ramirez had cancelled out Sergi Roberto's earlier opener.

Ronald Koeman's side have seven points from their opening three matches, while Getafe are still searching for their first win after defeats to Valencia, Sevilla and now Barca.

Barca made five changes to the side which was held by Athletic Bilbao last weekend, with Emerson Royal coming into the team for his full debut and goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen returning from a knee injury.

It took less than two minutes for Barca to open the scoring in front of a crowd of 26,000, Roberto sliding home from six yards to convert Jordi Alba's dangerous cross.

The Blaugrana relaxed after taking the lead, though, and were soon punished by two of their former players. Sandro, signed by Koeman when he was Everton coach, combined with Carles Alena before slotting past Ter Stegen.

Barca restored their advantage on the half-hour mark. Frenkie de Jong strode forward and found his Dutch teammate Memphis, who displayed quick feet before beating David Soria in the Getafe goal.

Getafe improved after the break and will feel they deserved at least a point. Jakub Jankto saw a long-range effort tipped wide and Emerson tracked back to deny Alena an almost certain goal.

Ter Stegen then had to be alert to deny Nemanja Maksimovic, while Barca's best chance of the half fell to Roberto, who headed straight at Soria.

Koeman handed a debut to 17-year-old Gavi in midfield, while there was also another league appearance for 19-year-old Nico Gonzalez. The changes helped Barca establish more control again, but they couldn't find another goal, with defender Ronald Araujo having a late effort ruled out for offside.
