Alen Halilovic joins Las Palmas on loan from Hamburg

Former Barcelona midfielder Alen Halilovic is returning to La Liga after signing an 18-month deal with Las Palmas on loan from Hamburg.

Halilovic, 20, has struggled in the Bundesliga since leaving the Camp Nou in July and has not made a first-team appearance for Hamburg since October.

In addition to the loan, Las Palmas also have an option for a permanent deal for the Croatia international.

"If both parties are not happy with the situation, you have to look for a solution," Hamburg's sporting director Jens Todt told the club's website. "We wish Alen all the best during his time at Las Palmas."

Halilovic joined Barcelona from Dinamo Zagreb in 2014 and spent last season on loan at Sporting Gijon, where he scored five goals.

Barcelona still have an option to buy back the player during the duration of his loan to Las Palmas.
