European clubs get ready for January spending (3:01)

With the January transfer window open, it's time to take a look and see who could be on the move across Europe during the month. (3:01)

St Etienne coach Christophe Galtier admits that the club would consider a "surprising offer" for reported Arsenal target Loic Perrin.

Perrin, 29, currently captains the Ligue 1 club, but has been linked with a move to north London in recent weeks with Arsene Wenger expected to bring in some defensive cover during the January transfer window.

Le Progres reported on Sunday that the fourth-placed Ligue 1 side had not been contacted by Arsenal with regard to a potential January move for Perrin, but Galtier says that, should a big-money offer come in, the club may have to consider their options.

"Loic is a special case that I will look after personally. I'm not saying the door is open but if a surprising offer is made we would have to listen to Loic and his wishes," Galtier said at a news conference, reported by leprogres.fr.

"He is a player who has spent all of his career at the club. Arsenal are a big club in a big league."

St Etienne-born Perrin, who made his professional debut with his hometown club in 2003 and has made 235 top-flight appearances for them, was one of seven reserves named by Didier Deschamps for France's 2014 World Cup squad, and has been included in recent Les Bleus squads.
