Iago Falque joins Roma on season-long loan from Genoa

Roma have signed Spanish midfielder Iago Falque on a season-long loan deal from Genoa, the Serie A club have announced.

A permanent transfer will be triggered as soon as he makes a competitive appearance for the Giallorossi, and completed next summer for a fee of €7 million. The former Spurs player has already agreed a contract to 2020.

A statement from Roma read: "AS Roma SpA announces that the club have signed a loan agreement with Genoa CFC SpA for the services of Iago Falque Silva until June 30, 2016 for a fee of €1 million.

"The agreement also includes a commitment to buy the player permanently for a further fee of €7 million once he makes at least one competitive appearance for the club.

"Finally, the agreement also includes a performance-related bonus of a maximum of €1 million should the player reach certain targets.

"Iago Falque has signed a contract until June 30, 2020."

Falque, a youth product of Barcelona, joined Genoa from Tottenham last summer and enjoyed an impressive debut season in Serie A.

He scored 13 goals and set up three more in 32 league appearances for Genoa.

Roma finished runners-up to Juventus in Serie A in the 2014-15 campaign and will play in next season's Champions League.
