Paris Saint-Germain have announced that suspended right-back Serge Aurier will train with the reserves for the next three weeks but also indicated that he does have a future with the first team.
Aurier, 23, was suspended indefinitely after making disparaging remarks about manager Laurent Blanc and several teammates during a Periscope session on Feb. 13.
The Ivory Coast international apologised publicly and had a disciplinary hearing earlier this week before also meeting with Blanc.
The French champions have now announced that Aurier can return to the club but will make him available to their youth team who play in the French fourth tier.
The punishment means he will miss the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie against Chelsea but he could in theory be available for the first team again should they progress to the quarterfinals.
A club statement said: "This Friday 26 February at 16h30, at the headquarters of the club, the player received from the hands of Olivier Letang, assistant sporting director, the notification of a disciplinary suspension of six days, which he has completed in the context of the temporary suspension announced on February 14.
"Moreover, at a time when Paris Saint-Germain must remain focused on major deadlines, the club's management must protect the first-team squad from any potential distress and has decided to make Serge Aurier available to the club's team which plays in the CFA [4th division] from Monday 29 February until Sunday March 20th."
The statement said that at the same time Aurier had proposed to carry out work for the Paris Saint-Germain Foundation and with the club's youth academy.
