Liam Bridcutt could have ended Sviatchenko's career - Age Hareide

Denmark boss Age Hareide claimed Liam Bridcutt could have ended the career of Denmark substitute Erik Sviatchenko with his challenge on the defender.

Bournemouth striker Matt Ritchie capitalised on a Daniel Agger mistake in the eighth minute to score the only goal of the game in Scotland's 1-0 win over Denmark on Tuesday.

The rest of the game saw both sides trying to dictate play, but there was to be no further goals.

Controversy struck when Liam Bridcutt, who came on for Shaun Maloney on 69 minutes, clattered into Sviatchenko, but was lucky to receive only a yellow card from Norwegian referee Norwegian referee Svein Oddvar Moen.

"It is red card. He could have broken Sviatchenko's leg, the way he dives in." said Hareide.

"I don't think he meant to be nasty, I just think he was over eager.

"But it was really bad. I saw television pictures afterwards and it was terrible.

"He could have taken his leg or his career.

"That boy should be spoken to and I hope Gordon will do that.''

The win was Scotland's second consecutive 1-0 victory after seeing off Czech Republic in another international friendly last week.
