Norwich City offer Gary O'Neil new contract at Carrow Road

Norwich City midfielder Gary O'Neil has told ESPN FC he is happy to stay at Carrow Road after being offered a new deal by the club.

O'Neil's current contract expires next month after signing a two-year deal when he arrived on a free transfer from Queens Park Rangers in the summer of 2014.

A number of clubs have been monitoring O'Neil's situation, but Norwich are desperate to keep hold of the midfielder.

The 33-year-old has established himself as a key player in Alex Neil's side and the Norwich boss is keen to keep hold of the experienced performer as they prepare for life in the Championship next season following relegation from the Premier League.

O'Neil, who has made over 400 league appearances in his career to date, has won promotion to the Premier League four times in his career with Portsmouth, West Ham United, Queens Park Rangers and Norwich.

"I am happy at Norwich and I would be open to the idea of extending my stay at the club," O'Neil told ESPN FC.

"I have enjoyed my time at the club and I am determined to try and help the club win promotion back to the Premier League next season."
