Tottenham arrived at Goodison Park with only one win in 10 league visits, but they enjoyed a comfortable afternoon and ran out 3-0 winners.
Harry Kane scored his first league goal of the season -- and his 100th for Spurs -- just before the half-hour mark, and Christian Eriksen then doubled the lead before half-time.
There were boos from Everton fans at the interval but any hopes of a spirited fightback were quickly crushed in the 46th minute as Kane doubled his tally for the day and put Mauricio Pochettino's side out of sight.
Positives
Kane is back among the goals in a Spurs shirt after drawing a blank in his first three matches, while Eriksen's crucial productivity shows no sign of abating. Lastly, Ben Davies continues to confound his critics setting up two of the three Spurs goals.
Davinson Sanchez also impressed at the centre of the defence, as the new signing made his first start, while Tottenham eased to victory without Mousa Dembele, who only appeared for the final 20 when the game was already won.
The league table is looking healthier too, even in these very early days -- Spurs are up to fifth.
Negatives
Not many. Moussa Sissoko could have done with a confidence-boosting goal or assist after coming close on a couple of occasions, but otherwise this was a near-perfect outing for Tottenham.

9 -- The Spurs manager took a few risks, leaving Dembele out of his starting lineup and deploying 21-year-old Sanchez in the centre of his back three. But his decisions were fully justified, and Everton manager Ronald Koeman said his side struggled to deal with Spurs' formation: "It was difficult with Tottenham's diamond in midfield," he stated. "We had problems controlling that."

GK Hugo Lloris, 6 -- The Frenchman had a relatively quiet day, with Everton only managing one attempting on target. He kept a clean sheet but his kicking was dodgy again and one errant pass gifted the Toffees a shooting chance.
DF Toby Alderweireld, 8 -- Took a shot from Sandro Ramirez in the face and did well to leap above Wayne Rooney and head behind when Everton threatened on another occasion. The Belgian used the ball well too, playing some neat passes forward and finding Davies on the far side with a couple of intelligent switches.
DF Davinson Sanchez, 8 -- Looked right at home between Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen. The youngster gave away a couple of early free kicks but showed off his pace, strength and aggression throughout the game and looks an exciting signing.
DF Jan Vertonghen, 7 -- Secure defensively and carried the ball well, helping to get Davies into dangerous positions.
DF Kieran Trippier, 7 -- A better showing after his performance against Burnley. The right wing-back put in a few good crosses. Sissoko should have headed home from one in particular.
DF Ben Davies, 9 -- The Welshman has added a threat to his game and set up two of the three goals, first drawing a save from Jordan Pickford that resulted in Eriksen's strike and then delivering the low cross that gifted Kane his second. He could have had another assist t if Sissoko's first-half shot hadn't been blocked.
MF Eric Dier, 7 -- Largely left to handle the centre of midfield by himself and did the job well, getting stuck into challenges and keeping the ball carefully. Played a neat disguised pass to find Eriksen in the box on one occasion.
MF Moussa Sissoko, 7 -- No lack of effort but, whenever he seemed set to achieve something, something went awry. One shot was blocked in front of goal, another was directed over the bar, and a chance to escape behind Everton's defence and square for Kane was squandered when he was carelessly flagged offside.
MF Dele Alli, 7 -- Often on the fringes but still played a key role in Eriksen's goal, running in behind Ashley Williams, cutting back and chipping to the far post.
MF Christian Eriksen, 8 -- Another game and another telling contribution, this time a goal, which gave Tottenham a 2-0 lead before half-time. The Dane has now scored once and set up a further three strikes in Tottenham's opening four matches.
FW Harry Kane, 9 -- His opening goal may have been lucky (an attempted cross which ended up in the net) but it was the result of his determination to cause Everton problems in all areas. In addition to his two strikes, Kane chased back, made runs down the channels and held the ball up well.

MF Mousa Dembele, N/A -- Replaced Eriksen with just under 20 minutes left and helped Spurs to see out the game.
MF Harry Winks, N/A -- Came on for the final 12 minutes when Sissoko was forced off with cramp.
