Former Celtic boss Ronny Deila strips naked to inspire Valerenga

It's been revealed -- quite literally -- that former Celtic boss Ronny Deila has developed a daring new motivational technique to help inspire his players to victory.

Now in charge of Norwegian side Valerenga, Delia has admitted that he has taken to stripping naked before matches in order to bolster his squad.

It certainly appears to be getting results too, with Delia first removing his clothes during the team meeting before last month's clash with rivals Brann, only for his relegation-threatened side to go on and register a vital 2-1 win.

"A lot of people have probably seen me nude already," Deila told Norwegian news website VG. "We have to have fun in all the seriousness."

Valerenga midfielder Herman Stengel sounded hesitant to praise his manager for the impromptu display, but was fully supportive of the positive outcome.

"I don't know if it was pretty, but it worked well,'' the 22-year-old said. "It was important to offer ourselves. It was what he was trying to say. We must dare to make fools of ourselves. It must be on the pitch as well. We know we're good footballers and we can cope with it all.''

Asked if he will be repeating the feat any time soon, Delia admitted that the prospect of him getting his kit off again is unlikely, saying: "I cannot do it every time. Then it loses the surprise effect."

We're sure his Valerenga players will be happy to hear that!
