Clint Dempsey announced his retirement from football on Wednesday. Not only is the 35-year-old the U.S. men's national team joint all-time leading scorer, he holds the same honor with the Seattle Sounders as well.

And on Saturday, the Sounders paid tribute to the forward. Dempsey and his family were presented to the crowd at CenturyLink Field ahead of the Sounders' match against Sporting Kansas City.
It didn't end there, though. There were videos posted to the club's social media feeds, including best wishes from former teammates, rivals and some of the world's best-known athletes thanking "Deuce" for his contributions to the game in the U.S. and wishing him the best.

And there was even a cameo from Kobe Bryant, who wished Dempsey a warm welcome into the retirement club.
