The Football Association has charged Cardiff defender Sol Bamba in relation to an incident that happened during his side's 1-1 draw at Ipswich on Dec. 10.
Bamba, 31, reacted angrily to a late tackle by Ipswich midfielder Jonathan Douglas before jabbing his finger in the direction of fourth official Charles Breakspear.
The Ivory Coast international also pushed his manager Neil Warnock as a number of players and officials tried to restrain him, and was subsequently shown a red card for his actions.
A statement on the FA's website read: "It is alleged that his language and/or behaviour in or around the 69th minute of the fixture was abusive and/or insulting and/or threatening and is considered sufficiently serious to warrant an additional sanction."
Speaking after the game, Warnock said Bamba "lost his rag" and added: "It was an aggressive attitude, and I don't condone Sol's behaviour.
"For me, he is one of the best in the Championship and that was a blemish I haven't seen in his make-up.''
Bamba has until 6pm on Dec. 16 to respond to the charge.
